Recycle your empties at Sarah Kahn hair

The amount of plastic packaging on U.S. products (not just on personal care items) has increased by over 120 times since 1960—with almost 70 percent of that waste piling up in landfills. We want to support you in this sustainable journey and make it easy!

Sarah Kahn Hair is recycling this waste through the TerraCycle Zero Waste Box Program, a recycling platform that works to reuse, up cycle and recycle waste. Click to learn more about Terracycle.

Q: Whats the right way to dispose of your used beauty products?

A: In order for our team to be able to recycle your products, all containers need to be completely cleaned, without any residue or left-over product in sight. An overnight soak in soap & water should do the trick!

Q: What kinds of packaging or materials can I bring to Sarah Kahn Hair for recycling

A: List of Accepted Empties: Shampoo + conditioner bottles and caps, hair spray bottles and pumps, lip balm tubes, face + body soap dispensers and tubes, lotion bottles, tubes, dispensers, and jars, shaving foam tubes (no cans please), lip gloss tubes, mascara tubes, eye liner pencils and cases, eye shadow, tubes, foundation containers, concealer tubes and sticks.*All items outside of this list will not be accepted.

Fun fact. Do you know ALL products have an expiration once opened? Check for this icon when you open a new product so you know the expiration.

Wondering what the expiration is on a product you got from the salon? Reach out as we have record of this and would be happy to share expiration.

We can only process + accept 10 empties per visit!

WE are proud to launch our first ever refill program!

Each year the beauty industry produces an enormous amount of plastic, we want to do our part to minimize waste we create.

We are excited to now refill select products in salon: Reverie Milk, Davines Minu, Nou Nou and Solu shampoo and conditioners. Select Leonor Greyl shampoo’s , and Christophe Robin color care conditioners.

How will refills work? Its going to be super easy! Please clean and dry your empty packaging as well as you can, then let us know ahead of time you will be refilling so we can get ready for you.
