Krystell Barraza came up with the idea of creating hair ties and scrunchies after looking through silk remnants from her clothing brand. She told us “I can't find it in myself to throw away silk!” She found she could make hair accessories out of them if I pieced them together. She initially just made these for myself, but friends and family would comment on them whenever I wore them in my hair or on my wrist, so Krystell decided to pitch them to a few shops, and they were a hit!

A bit about Krystell -she is based in Chicago and studied design at SAIC (The School of the Art Institute of Chicago) and every one of my pieces is handmade in small batches. She believes in using natural materials and responsible sourcing - even the elastic used is milled from cotton in Pennsylvania.
